Lake Michigan Region Update - October 15, 2026
This month, a young couple came to us who were considering an abortion. As our office manager began talking with the boyfriend, he told her he wanted to support his girlfriend's decision. She didn't let that be the end of the conversation. She told him to fight for his baby. She shared that his baby is a gift from God, and just as much a baby right now as a baby outside the womb.
And she didn't stop there. She shared the Gospel with him. He told her he considers himself spiritual, and that he reads both the Bible and the Koran. She gently shared with him that the God of the Bible and the god of the Koran are not the same. Then he opened up. He said he had just been praying about getting his life right with God, and that he knew God had sent him to us. Our office manager invited him to receive the Gospel, and he prayed to receive Jesus!
She was also able to let him and his girlfriend know that Alliance is here for them, and that we can help connect them to resources. This young father was so grateful that he hugged her at least six times before he left, holding a tract that explains the Gospel. This one young man's yes to Jesus can change generations.
We are also so grateful for your prayers for open doors for our abstinence curriculum. The Lord is answering! We have an opportunity to begin teaching the curriculum in an after-school program in the Zion and Waukegan area for students in grades 6 through 12. It will begin this fall. Please keep praying for this open door, and that everything moves forward smoothly.
Finally, we are asking you to join us in praying for volunteer nurses and sidewalk advocates for our mobile unit that goes to Planned Parenthood. We want to bring the mobile unit out much more often, and the only way we can do that is by partnering with faith-filled volunteers who will join us on the streets as we plead for the lives of preborn children.
We are also looking for volunteers who would be willing to help with yard work and snow removal for our residents at the Hope House. As the weather begins to change, we are especially in need of help with lawn care. If either of these is stirring in your heart, take a step of faith and call our clinic. We would love to connect with you.
Thank you for every prayer you lift up for this work. We truly feel the weight of each one of them.
